I am guessing that Amal Fashanu is the daughter of John Fashanu, whose bigotry led him to disown his brother after he came out, and in all likelihood contributed significantly to Justin's suicidal thoughts. It is encouraging to see that, in this case, the apple has indeed fallen far from the tree.
